Jane's Addiction is back! |
|
J ane's Addiction is reuniting... Again! After their first breakup in fall 1991 the original line-up of Jane's went separate ways and since then never played together on stage or in studio. This is now to change... The band will be honoured at first US NME Awards on April 23, 2008 at El Ray Theatre in Los Angeles. They are set to be named Godlike Geniuses at the US NME Awards and also expected to perform a few songs. Now the question is, how can a band which does not exists anymore perform? Well, it seems that the guys were so pumped about the honor they now consider to at least reunite for this particular event and keep the legacy of Jane's alive. Nevertheless, the biggest surprise will be the fact that original bass player Eric Avery is to perform with his former band mates as well! The last time the four men hit the stage together was in September 1991. After the breakup vocalist Perry Farrell and drummer Steve Perkins formed Porno For Pyros. Guitarist Dave Navarro and Eric Avery started a project called 'Deconstrucion' which was cannceled shortly after the record release. As we all know Navarro joined the RHCP afterwards to fill the gap John Frusciante left - Eventually in 1997 Jane's Addiction would tour for the first time again, Flea replacing Eric. On their rollercoaster ride they managed to release a new record in 2003 with Chris Chaney on bass but in the end the band broke up again. Unfortunatelly, there is still no word on a real reunion. But what can we expect this time? Only one performance? A tour? Maybe even a new record? Well, whatever it will be, let's hope they make it back again and never break up...
